Drone safety and training
Buying a drone doesn't give you permission to operate it. Here's where to find the current rules.
Commercial operation
Most AGRAS and enterprise aircraft are heavier than CASA's simpler categories allow. Commercial use typically involves a remote pilot licence (RePL), the right weight-category coverage, and an operator's certificate (ReOC) or working under an ReOC holder. Some operations need specific flight authorisations.
Check CASA's current guidance for your aircraft and operation: casa.gov.au/drones.
Agricultural application
Aerial application of agricultural chemicals has state and territory requirements on top of CASA rules. Check with the relevant authority in your state before spraying.
Recreational guidance
Know Your Drone is useful general safety guidance. It isn't a complete pathway for commercial or AGRAS operations.
Training
DRONES180 provides product familiarisation with your purchase. We don't run RePL courses or accredited training, but we can point you to providers.
